Delivery Boy Review: Tamil Action-Drama That Hits Hard

Sivakumar, played by Leo Sivakumar, is a young food delivery rider with two things going for him: a bike that never quits and a stubborn dream of wearing a police uniform. His mother Lakshmi (Radhika Sarathkumar) is his whole world. When she's critically injured, Siva finds himself facing a medical bill no amount of delivery tips will cover. Desperate, he steals money - a decision that sets off a chain of events he can't see yet.

Months later, Siva learns the man tied to that money has been falsely accused of murder. And just like that, our delivery boy has to risk everything to save the life he unknowingly wrecked. It's a neat narrative pivot - the crime you commit in the dark comes back wearing a different face. The film doesn't just coast on that irony; it milks it for genuine tension, especially once Bala (Jenson Dhivakar) and Then Mozhi (Brigida Saga) get pulled deeper into the mess.

He's got that wide-eyed earnestness that makes you root for Siva immediately, but he also sells the guilt - the way his face drops when he realizes what his one bad choice caused. It's a performance that grows on you. Radhika Sarathkumar, meanwhile, does what she's been doing for decades: she walks into a scene and makes it feel lived-in. Her scenes with Siva are the emotional spine, and she never overplays a single one.

The action is scrappy and grounded, which fits the story. This isn't a superhero movie - it's a guy on a scooter dodging consequences. Darla knows how to stage a chase on narrow streets, and the film's best sequence involves Siva doing something reckless with a delivery bag that had me holding my breath. Brigida Saga brings a sharp, welcome spark as Then Mozhi, and Kaali Venkat as Karupu provides the right amount of comic relief without derailing the tone.

Where it wobbles: the screenplay loses steam around the hour mark, and some of the procedural logic in the third act wouldn't survive a chat with an actual police officer. The movie also leans hard on coincidence to keep its plot moving. None of this kills the experience, but it keeps Delivery Boy from reaching the top tier of recent Kollywood dramas.
